A few months ago I booked a cruise for me and my hubby. It's "he-just-graduated/almost-one-year-anniversary cruise". I'm really proud of myself because I've planned the whole thing and paid for it all by my little self. It was supposed to be a complete surprise where we were supposed to fly to Florida before he knew where were going. But those who know me know that I am not very good at keeping secrets.. so about a month ago I slipped up, so now he knows that we are going on a cruise.. BUT he doesn't know where! So I still have some element of surprise! Today I finished the complete check-in process and now I get to start planning the excursions! I'm thinking that swimming with sting rays and laying out on the beach is sounding pretty darn nice right about now. Here is a picture of our ship that you can stare at, then become extremely jealous of me!

My Family
I'm creating this blog to act as a journal to follow my life and the life of my new family! So here we are:
Spenser- My best friend and the love of my life. We meet when I was junior in high school and have been together ever since. He is the brains of the family, and keeps most of us in line. He is the perfect husband as long as you can see past his obsession for buying cars and enough car parts to supply a small shop.
Elle- Our hairless wonder, or half hairless is more correct. She is most defiantly the spunk of the family, and the most spoiled.
Paris- Has enough attitude for five cats, and is always sure to make her presence known. She adores Spens and enjoys cuddling up with him while he plays video games (if you ask him he doesn't like her, but he sure doesn't mind cuddling back)
Romeo- Is the baby of the family, our giant baby. He is has way to much personality, and is the biggest most affectionate dog you could ask for.
Me- And then there was me, the domestic housewife in training. I like to think that I'm the glue of the family. I may give the most grief but I think I'm pretty worth it.
This will be the story of the five of us, the adventures and trials that we will face while we try to do this thing called "Marriage".

Kitchen Tools!
So every great cook needs great tools, which is why I feel that I really.. really.. really.. need this!
Lodge Enameled Cast Iron 6-Quart Dutch Oven
Don't ya think? I could sear my roast on the stove and then.. in the same pan.. put it right into the oven! I'll save at least half the dishes a week with this little puppy. It's the perfect for stews, roasts, and whatever else I need to cook, and I really think the blue with go well with my eyes..
Cooking 101
I come from a long line of great family cooks, somehow that gene didn't get passed on. I think it might have something with my problem of not wanting to follow instructions. Example- the recipe calls for 1 cup of chocolate chips, I would probably add 2 because I REALLY like chocolate chips. Well, I finally found a site that really slows me down and makes me follow each step (correctly). I'm admitting that I have fallen in love with The Pioneer Woman she breaks everything down WITH pictures! Its pretty much a no fail recipe. I get most my recipes from her or her sister site The Tasty Kitchen .
Sometimes I get this urge to freestyle in the kitchen and just start throwing things together. Last time that happened we ended up going and getting Chinese take out. My husband tries to encourage me to just stick with what I know, but I'm a housewife and I want to make new, fun, and exciting dishes.
Because we both have pretty busy schedules I try to cook at least 3 nights a week, and we have the leftovers for the rest of the week. I've been working with this system for about 2 months and so far its seems to be working!
